4. AI Data Processing Details
4.1 Where AI Processing Occurs
All AI processing is performed on Google's secure cloud servers via the Gemini AI API:
• Chat Responses - Google Gemini (cloud) - Until you delete
• Mood Analysis - Google Gemini (cloud) - Until you delete
• Recommendations - Device + Google Gemini (cloud) - Session-based
• Journal Prompts - Google Gemini (cloud) - Not retained after generation
4.2 AI Service Provider - Google (Gemini AI)
InnerHeal uses Google's Gemini AI (provided by Google LLC) as its third-party AI service provider to power all AI features in the app, including chat, mood analysis, journal insights, and personalized recommendations.
What data is sent to Google Gemini:
• Chat messages: The text you type in the AI Chat is sent to Google Gemini to generate responses
• Mood data: When you log your mood, your mood score, selected emotions, and context are sent to generate personalized insights
• Journal entries: When you use AI-powered journal prompts, relevant portions of your entries are sent to generate reflections
• Wellness preferences: Your selected goals and preferences are sent to generate personalized recommendations
What is NOT sent to Google Gemini:
• Your name, email, or account credentials
• Your profile picture
• Your payment or billing information
• Your device identifiers or IP address
Google's obligations:
• Google receives only the minimum data necessary to generate responses
• Google is contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes
• Google is contractually prohibited from training their models on your data
• Google must delete data after processing
• Google's AI services are subject to Google's Cloud Data Processing terms
You will be asked to provide explicit consent before any data is shared with Google Gemini. You can review this consent at any time in Settings > Privacy > AI Data.
4.3 Data Minimization
We follow the principle of data minimization:
